April 26, 1943 – Monday
“Arose 8:30. Wrote more letters. Sent cable to Earl. Will take around 12-15 days to reach him. Told him to reply by cable. Red Cross sure a swell bunch. Offered to address envelopes & type letters for me. Mailed first letter to Earl. Sent addressed envelopes to relatives. Feel better now. Sure hope he gets cable and answers.“
I am not sure whether my Dad received this cable or not. Sadly, I tend to doubt that he did.
